1. What is the optimum, pithily stated, always correct philosophy of life if I want to fully optimise fun, work, intellectual activities, and not have any of the dehumanising feelings that come with optimisation?
2. Is it possible to consider the above question utter bullshit, along with considering all self help and religion either trivial or bullshit, and not get wittingly or unwittingly manipulated by advertising / corporations / society as a result? I fully trust my intuitions and tastes. But society wages war against me e.g., tells me to read Dickens or else I'm considered dumb. This kills my morale.

1. Do what's right for you. Work and play at your own pace.
2. 'Society' does no such thing. Even the major complement of /lit/ posters scoff at the very idea of 'reading Dickens,' whom I rather like.

Trivial for what? The label exists for you to ignore things. The main reason is for you not to get paralyzed by information and meaning.
So, what is your goal for you to discard those?
