Postmodernism is a failed ideology since it can't even do the most basic thing that an ideology is supposed to do, perpetuate and reproduce itself. It has completely exhausted all of its possibilities in a single generation, it's amazing.

That's because postmodernism is part of a larger ideology, modernism. It is not a failed ideology because it fails to perpetuate itself. The classical ideology perpetuated itself for a while but eventually it was unable to continue, and Europe fell into the Dark Ages. That doesn't make the classical ideology a failure.
