Cults
Do they interest anyone else here?
It's a beautiful combination of rhetoric, psychology, and fiction.
There are so many good books on the subject too. Both from ex-cult members, but also professionals about certain parts of what makes a cult.

So as a thought experiment, how would you create and sustain a cult yourself? What aspect do you yourself deem the most important?

There is a difference between a benign book or yoga center, and then international cults that convince people to work for the cause 80hours a week, for less than minimum wage.

In my experience, the best way to go is reading books about specific cults, as they allow you to develop a perspective.
In the discord server I am also collecting a list of good reads. Right now there are one really good about scientology, one specifically about cults, and 2 about brainwashing.
