writing classic literature is the same as writing any of the other categories. you just have to wait a few decades afterwards to get the label.
also novella just describes the length of the book, not anything about its content. i guess it is true that they are "easier" in some since because they are shorter, but you could have a sci-fi novella or a postmodernist novella.
