Not OP, but I plan on reading this soon. I know that it's a masterpiece, and very culturally significant, but how enjoyable of a read did you find it?

Do I need to read Orlando Innamorato first or can the novel be understood and appreciated without it? I only ask because copies of Orlando Innamorato are really expensive where I live.

Read the first two chapters and plan on finishing it by the end of summer. It's really great! Knights and monsters and dragons and all. It inspired Faerie Queene which is even better imo
