should i stop reading a book if i dont find it interesting (drags, too slow) even if its considered important/influential? how to cope with this feeling. pic related. also /boringbooks/ general

Some parts are boring, but as a whole, I found it very fascinating. Psychoanalytic theory is quite influential, so I would read it anyway.

I have a nuclear option for boring books which is to read it in Shreks voice. You will be surprised at how far you can go.
It picks up after chapter 2 or 3 imo. Chapter 1 can be a drag. I don't remember exactly where it picked up for me though
