Are you also studying something with little to no relation to literature at college?
I get bored as hell every single day learning useless crap like finances or marketing, all because people around me keep telling me that I can't do anything with a philosophy degree.
It's basically hell.
we need socialism bcos of this bro
if money is free then nobody needs to work and you can study what you want bcos it doesnt matter

why? why pay money to study something you don't wish to study? you are literally paying them for a service, why are you letting them inconvenience you in your scholarly pursuits?

Just do philosophy you idiot. If it were true that philosophy degrees sentenced you to a life of horror, poverty, and doom no one would major in it, yet people do and end up okay. We need people who can think

Sucks to be you.
We all struggle OP, we all struggle
I'm in law school.
Get your shit together OP. Make sure you have enough credits for a minor in business, and transfer to what you want to do.

English BA, soon to be English PhD, eventually English professor.
You can do it if you want. Stop complaining. I'll be making peanuts compared to finance/business/medical students, but at least I'm doing what I'm passionate about.

I'm condemned to get this degree, I have a scholarship because my parents are poor, so it's basically free. If I decided to study philosophy I'd have to switch to another university in another city and to pay all of that would be to expensive.
I have an engineering PhD. I miss taking math and science classes. Having a boring industry job unrelated to my research background is suffering.
Literature is just a hobby.

I'm studying Computer Science.

Believe me, studying literature and philosophy at college or university is the most useless and stupid thing ever. You'll get a lot of insults if you say this, especially on this website, but it's true. Read in your free time the more you can because literature is the most beautiful thing in this world, but study something else. Literature at college/university is just corrupt academism and doesn't improve your abilities.
I got a B.S. but for most of my electives I took lit classes. Several lit students said I was smart, as I just took all the classes where you read cool books and discuss, without getting into the bullshit world of academic writing.
Yeah, and I have what I'm studying too. Just hoping to go back to school to do it later, but it won't really be viable until I'm in my mod-thirties.
I'm studying genetics, but I am actually really interested in genetics.
Sounds like you're just a brainlet.
