Honestly, no. I just started reading a random story, and got hooked. You should be good with any of her works. She has a remarkable way of putting an entire lifetime into one short story and making you feel it.

I don't really get it either OP. We had to read The Blind Assassin my senior year in hs (not Canadian, so it wasn't about muh national literature), alongside a great deal of classic literature like Shakespeare, Dostoevesky, Conrad, and others. She was really out of place, like glorified sci-fi genre fiction for 14 year-olds.
