I found it to be more of a mindfuck towards the end, but yeah. The whole chapter on echoes seems pointless and longwinded at first, but by the end of the next chapter you'll see why it was so important. Also the whole dynamic between the concept of the House and the Minotaur is really interesting and engrossing in a subtle way. Don't forget to look through the photos and poems in the back, I've found some pretty creepy shit hiding in there.

How was it? I've been meaning to get around to reading it after I played the Cthulu video game based off of it.

It's the kind of scary that requires imagination.
Somehow, the hallways are the only things in the book that feel certain; everything else grows more and more doubtful while remaining wholly believable.
Read and ask yourself, "exactly what could I do in that situation? What if something like that just, happened?"
The answers scare me.

Its entry level high school lit. its worth reading so you can roll your eyes at those who hype it up as some great novel when its honestly not that good. I would rather read stephen king.
The collected ghost stories of M. R. James
Obvious answer is Lovecraft.
