the classics are all pretty obvious places to start desu: Pit and the Pendulum, Tell Tale Heart, House of Usher, Murders in the Rue Morgue. from there just dive into the complete tales. shit gets weird.

Anyone have a chart for getting started in understanding Western philosophy? I'm starting with Plato but who are the major players I need to know, which I can understand as a beginner? I'm not sure chronological order is the best given varying difficulty levels, as I will be following them mostly on my own.

I also hope to read some more modern (i.e. post 1900) texts as well to see how they influence our current society.
