Who are your favorite book publishers in terms of the quality

Penguin Classics and NYRB softcovers are nice.

Hardcovers are unwieldy for reading.

Library of America is great for American stuff. I like the hardcovers of faulkner, poe and melville.

nyrb softcovers are nice but sometimes it feels like theyre trying to make a book out of less than 50 pages worth of material. the robert bresson book is particularly bad.

I really like Franklin library and Easton Press. The binding designs on Franklin books can be hit or miss at times, but the books are always exceptionally high quality.

old Dover paperbacks have great style to them

ND when they actually try put out good editions

i think tusquets would be my pick for softcovers. they have a nice balance of good quality bookbinding and both critically and /lit/-approved content. which, in spanish, is a much more important matter than bookbinding, in my opinion.

for hardcovers, i pretty much like every physical copy i possess in terms of bookbinding.

in spanish, the alfaguaraxrae commemorative editions, some vargas llosa collection of pocket-sized hardcovers, one by the fce, 2 cheap gredos great thinkers (philosophy) i have, three from a presumably old castalia collection, and one anthology of plays by what i guess is an old publishing house that i know nothing about, but that is most probably, imo, not the same folio(es) I have sometimes seen here that exist(s) in the english and french-speaking world.
