What are some good self help books? It's hard to distinguish what's really good versus what's bullshit, I can't trust Amazon reviews blindly

Philosophy in general is "self-help" would need more info on you if you want useful suggestions that wont just depress you.
Most self-help books can aptly be summarised in a long article but we often need the elaborate stories and examples to really make us invested enough to use the advice. So with that being said, I'll throw "Mindset" by Dr Carol Dweck simply because it's an uplifting and actionable book.
The whole thing is a waste of time though or at least reading more than 4 or 5 self-help books is a waste of time. It's just regurgitated advice that's re-used every decade by a new author.
You already know what you need to do to help yourself and it's usually the boring stuff that you've heard a thousand times before. Eat well, sleep well, excersise, meditate, be goal-oriented, help your future self like you would a family member and you continue to do these things despite their difficulty and in the same process you gain discipline.
Have you incorporated the above things into your daily routine? Why not? That should be the question you ask yourself. If you find it difficult to build habits you can look up “Seinfeld Strategy” or "x-effect".
