I'd recommend a paperwhite--that's the one I have. The good thing about paperwhite is that it has the backlight which lets you read in the dark. The cheapest one has everything paperwhite has, wifi, etc, but it doesn't have the backlight. Also the resolution is a bit more crappy.
My sis has the cheapest one. It's not bad.
