Be honest
Is plato worth reading or would a wikipedia summary suffice?
It seems like most of the "lessons" or philosophical arguments are already in the common vernacular

Plato was a plagiarist, you should read Socrates instead.

>suffice
Suffice for what?
being a pseud?
Plato is worth reading if only because he was a great writer. He's like the reverse Spinoza/Kant (who were brilliant minds who wrote unintelligible garbage)

It is... almost... okay to skip Plato. But not quite. You would be well served by Plato while reading Aristotle. Everything after is its own deal.

This, too. Plato gave us Socrates, and Socrates was pretty funny. He BTFO nearly everyone. Reading the Socratic dialogues is 50/50 identifying fallacies and watching pseuds get their comeuppance. Skip it if you want, but you're missing out. Especially if you are a fan of classics/Greeks.
reading fiction is useless
the only thing more useless is philosophy

lol? You dumb fuck
YA is dominated by coping trans subhumans and faggots
>re-read plato regularly and his method of relentless pursuit of an idea will raise your IQ
t. schopenhauer somewhere in the manuscript remains
While we are on the subject, has anyone read "The Cave and the Light"? I've been meaning to read it for a while now.

Read it because it's beautiful.
Also, if you know Greek, he has achieved perfection of prose in that language.

>tfw Socrates starts a random dialogue for no reason in the middle of someone else's speech and his friends tell him to stop being a faggot
Plato is winking at me.
