Is reading an annotated Iliad and Odyssey worth it? Mostly just to keep track of stuff like for example the wife of Hephaestus changing between the two poems.

What's more confusing is that sometimes it's described as him marrying Aglaea after divorcing Aphrodite, but the Iliad predates the Odyssey, both in plot and writing, and it is in the Iliad he is married to Aglaea.
