Second Culture of Critique, the methodology is sound

Culture of Critique series is interesting, especially the first or earlier ones.

Worth reading also is The Holocaust in American Life, by Peter Novick, and The Holocaust Industry by Finkelstein. The latter is a lot more controversial.

But yeah, good luck getting anything that isn't thoroughly sanitized. MacDonald (Culture of Critique) guy's career was destroyed and he was pushed into the genuine anti-semite conspiracy fringe. Finkelstein had his tenure sabotaged by Dershowitz.

Jewish Studies is a huge field in academia. It's absolutely enormous because of how much funding it gets. Guess why.
