Do you learn and read for the sake of what you learn and read, /lit/? Does the acquisition of knowledge, culture, and poetic sense make you happy in and of itself? Or do you merely read to impress someone--someone, somewhere, no matter who it is?

Yes. At least "happier" than most other things in my life.

I like to bask in various artforms and how they have changed throughout the years.
I just need to know that's why I read

I don't generally find material possessions fulfilling so the closest I can get to happiness is the exchange of ideas because I'm not really concerned with happiness but am happy to entertain the thoughts and theories of other people.
I read whatever sounds interesting to experience and learn from it.
I honestly dont get people who read stuff just to say they have, its not a competition.

I read to impress myself. Honestly.
