Hello /lit/, I'm trying to look for excellent books on programming as well as technology, as I intend to become a programmer one day. I've always had a knack for for computers too as I'm insanely addicted to gaming. So, any suggestions? If anyone from /g/ could help me out that'd be great too. Also, pic related, I just bought this over Amazon but I don't think it's the best tbqh. How do you all rate For Dummies books, btw?

There's a programming general on /g/
Go to /g/, choose a language (Python or Java are good), pick a course like >>9426368 said.
Whatever you do, if there are examples. Type those examples out, understand what each line does.
pick a language and stick with it. I recommend python but some people will tell you otherwise. Once you have a grasp on basic programming concepts you can move onto books that are more theory like SICP, K&R, Introduction to Algorithms, etc.
also since you're "insanely addicted to gaming" you might be interested in looking at this.
