What are your thoughts on the mystery genre?
Who are your favourite writers, or what are some of your favourite tricks? Who are the biggest hacks?
I've just realized that I've never properly read any mystery books.
I like Agatha Christie

I just read VNs by the japs, those are the good contemporary works
the ability to show the reader important images lends itself really well to the genre

Me neither, I should probably read some Sherlock Holmes, I guess.
The Island Where The Black-Tailed Gulls Weep is my favorite.

Is there any mystery novel on the level of Remember 11? Clearly, no other VN comes close.

God are you kidding me? Absolutely shit writer. Her plots are fun but it reads like paperback dimestore erotica.
Obviously New York Trilogy.

I'm not well-read in the genre, but I find that Arthur Conan Doyle, Dashiell Hammett, and Raymond Chandler all live up to the hype.
