Harold Bloom loved this book so much that he took it upon himself to write his own sequel for it. The only fiction he ever wrote.
Why has no one read it?
Its pretty good.

I read this and Phantastes (GM) on a friend's rec. Both have a comfy Victorian parlor room feel, but very different. And yes, both are good. I later learned Bloom likes both, and was probably my friend's source.

I've read it, and it's shit. Gnostic allegorical shit.

It's pretty good. Kind of a ballsy decision to spend so much time on visual description that it's literally impossible to imagine (invented colors, geometrical impossibilities, etc.)

I enjoyed it so much that I plan on eventually buying Bloom's memequel once I feel like I understand literature enough to know what he was getting at. Hopefully there are still copies kicking around in 2050.

Probably just an adolescent favourite that he extended his autism towards.
