As a writer myself, I think it is true. You need to spend some time alone to examine and understand the human heart, to examine how a human thinks and feels, using yourself as an example. At the same time, you need to be out in society because you have to be able to understand how humans act when we're together. You have to understand how a person becomes a people, and how the former influences the latter.
