>it was just a clandestine mail company
Well that's a bit disappointing. Book was fantastic but all of that buildup for just a mail company left me pretty blue-balled.

Not that anon, but you feeling disappointed that there wasn't much to the mystery is exactly how Oedipa felt. She is a bored housewife with little to do and this supposed mystery with supposed connections everywhere was one of the first times in a long time she felt excitement and motivation for something, which led to a desperation to finding answers and connections where there were none.
The whole point is that the protagonist is so desperate to find connections and meaning when it just doesn't matter. It reflects people who have conspiratorial mindsets and tells them to just calm the fuck down. This guy >>9371077 is sort of right.

Read it, anon. OP unfortunately didn't quite follow what the intention of the book was. It's not just a conventional mystery novella.
this reads like some airport dan brown conspiracy book
