>read a short story I felt really good about writing
>it's shit
i figure this is how most writers feel about their own work
give it to someone else, let them decide

What is it about?
>>9346443
I don't know
>>9346476
Just describe what's happening
>>9346482
There's a lot going on.
>>9346491
Holy shit stop arguing semantics, just pick something that's important and post it here or fuck off
>>9346433
Dont confuse your perception of your work for the perception of others. You may become overly cynical and lose faith in yourself. Remain critical, but never cynical.

And this is why you're on 4chan. Nobody likes the guy who spergs out.
>>9346519
Nobody likes me anyway, I'm a pathetic worthless piece of shit that will never accomplish anything in his life. Is that what you want to hear?

Best advice I saw here.

Get /fit/ bro instead of pitying yourself on the tiniest of flaws. No one gives a shit if you ain't got friends
>think up a concept for a short story in an hour
>write the outline
>look at it
>it's seems like teriible, cringy shit
>post it on /lit/ for feedback
>2 feedback comments, both love it but are much less enthusiastic about other anons works
You never know, it's hard to look at your own work objectively because it seems so fake (since you witnessed yourself faking it).
>caring about the result and not the experience
just keep writing and dont give a shit about what comes out.
> read a short story that blew out to 18,000 words
> thought it was okay at the time
> it's the best fucking thing i've ever written
"gorgonopsids", lol
>want to write
>try to outline a short story, but never write it because you hate yourself and everything you do sounds stupid
>instead, pound out a few thousand words with no plan
>cringe too hard to even look at the result
>repeat
I hope eventually I will get used to writing, and develop a healthier perspective.
