You say you keep most of these books for reference, but when it comes to look something up, how do you decide which of your many, many volumes to look through? How is it curated?

Also, how do you share and make available this knowledge bank you've collected? Is your library open to the public? How often do you scans books for anons?

ima say this once, and once only, because if you read through my posts i have gone out of my way to be polite, to show you kindness, and to disclose my intentions--of which you have not responded at all.

let me make it very clear: not one of you--so full of anger and insecurity--could ever, ever compete with me on an intellectual level. while i have not read anything close to the entirety of my collection, i have read an incredible amount; i can speak intelligently across disciplines and subjects; and i have plenty of worthwhile opinions, some controversial and some sanctioned. but you don't care about this. all you do is hurl ad hominems; you ask nothing about my interests, you ask nothing that would demonstrate your knowledge or challenge mine, and you don't respond when i do try to engage in any meaningful way.

you all are truly flawed human beings. until you start acting like adults, i will ignore you, and continue offering what i have to those worth speaking to.

you embarrass yourselves with your gross stupidity and lack of basic human decency.

and i know: this post will receive nothing but the same kind of belligerence. i'm not going to be surprised--but just know that, the more you post as you have, the less anyone in this world will respect you or take you seriously.

engage me on an intellectual registrar or not at all. these principles should be obvious to you; but they are not, and reaching you seems impossible. therefore, i will give up before i succumb to the same type of anger.

great question. i run a reading group with two other friends in washington, DC: my library is totally open to that group (some 30+ scholars, politicians and businessmen), as well as whatever intellectual circles i run in post-cornell (i have several friends who teach at georgetown, AU and GW). of course, my effort here is to open it up even further to the general public writ large--especially the internet.

excellent question. epistemic justification is a favorite topic of mine--i've approached the problem through wittgenstein and harman primarily, and, while i don't refer to sellers or mcdowell, they are in the back of my mind--same with plantinga and warranted belief. my stance on the subject of "changing frames" might offer some insight here:
https://catilineconspiracy.com/2017/04/04/1-15-on-wittgenstein-epistemic-authority-and-frame-changes/

i gotta go to dinner, but great topic: i'll post more later, especially how i think that the internalist/externalist debate plays out today in populist politics as the fundamental cleavage between antinomeans (those who externalize truth born internally) and establishmentarians (those who internalize truth born externally). i think the first category encompasses the alt-right and alt-left; i think the latter defines things like academic communities and scientific traditions (though, of course, kuhn and collins and so on have a lot to say here).

i'll engage the analytics more when i return.

I really enjoy the "consensus historians", Hofstadter, Hartz, Boorstin, Schlesinger, it's a shame that in the past two decades or so they have been kind of pushed aside in favor of Zinn et al. There are some folks like David McCullough who carry on that tradition, though.

>as well as his essays on goldwater and the rise of the alt-right

A little confused by this, Hofstadter died over 40 years ago. I can see a remote linkage between Goldwater and Trump in that they are both populist to a certain degree, but Goldwater only in the sense that he was being compared to the likes of Nixon, Lodge and Nelson Rockefeller. Maybe you could link Goldwater to the alt-right through states' rights or his strident anti-communism, but the American public was generally anti-communist then and detente was still controversial, and states' rights remained very much a live issue at that time as the federal government tried to figure out how to dismantle segregation in the South while leaving federalism intact.

>would you like all the girard as well

honestly, if you are really just starting out, i would recommend Miller's "very short introduction to political theory" by oxford. these little texts are great intros, written by top scholars, on all major theorists.

if you want a holistic treatment from the ground up, something a little more serious and meaty, then i would suggest sheldon wolin's "politics and vision"

if you want to go to primary source materials, then--and this is a meme, no doubt--i would recommend starting with the greeks and moving up: anaxamander, anaxagoras, thales, pythagoras, heraclitus, parmenides--socrates/plato, aristotle, etc.

this is the slowest, most arduous method. but you will change as a human being and become truly wise. what can i say? "long is the way, and hard, that out of hell leads up to light"

Do you think it's even possible to have a "consensus history" of the past 30-40 years, which is when the consensus broke down and Zinn and his ilk started taking over, which provoked a similar right-wing reaction? It's obviously too early to do a proper history of Obama and Bush II, but I'd like to think that, given that Schlesinger wrote in the 1950s about the 1920s, 30s, and early 40s, we can reach some kind of generally acceptable understanding of the pre-9/11 Carter, Reagan, Bush I, and Clinton years. It doesn't seem like it, though.

sorry, missed it.

i would highly recommend:
Fine's "the ancient greeks: a critical history"
Lendon's works on greek warfare, including "song of wrath" and "soldiers and ghosts"
Finley's "legacy of greece"--its an edited volume with a lot of great essays on various topics by top scholars
jaeger's three-volume "paideia"
vernnant's work on myth and greek society
guthrie's "history of greek philossophy"--all volumes. while he covers every aspect of greek philsophy, guthrie's treatment is utterly exhaustive, and you'll have a wonderful grasp of history by the end as well
munn's "the school of history"
cooper's "the pursuit of wisdom"--a little more laymen oriented, but a good treatment of the various "ways of life" found in ancient greece
ober's "the rise and fall of classical greece"
loraux's "the invention of athens" and "the divded city" for more theoretical treatments
burkhardt's the greeks and greek civilization
onian's "the origins of european thought"--this is a little bit more idiosyncratic, and onians is a stickler for precise historical detail, but you will learn a lot about how the greeks saw the world
mcdonald's "progress into the past"--his treatment of myceneaen civilization cannot be beat
croix's "the class struggle in the ancient greek world"
godolphin's two-volume "the greek historians"

honestly, though, i am unaware of a series that is comparable to mommsen's history of rome, for instance. if you have any suggestions, i would of course be all ears.

i again agree entirely. there are some scholars who i think are beginning to do this--maybe not with bush II or obama, but with raegan and clinton--see sean wilentz, for instance.

but i do not think we will return to a consensus politics; i think the academic conditions that made that salient are no longer in existence. anyone who is in theory/history at the grad level today will tell you: the fucking main trope now is all about "disenthrallment" from various states of "beholdenment." all scholars want to do is make a name for themselves by shouting at another that they missed "this" or forgot "that." it's basically become a world of strawmanning, with the larger problems falling out of fashion as pathetically trivial debates foment and take hold.

there are some people today who i think are doing a better job than not, though. michael kazin's work on populism is excellent--but of course this doesn't count as consensus politics. but i wanna see a lot more from scholars like him.

How do you manage to read so much? I find myself constantly struggling to set aside necessary time and devote myself to it. Are you a fast reader or do you have a regiment or something else?

Also if you study/read on campus do you have a favorite or most productive spot? (I'm a Cornell Undergrad and I'm sick of the crowded libraries)

i lost two years to cancer; i'm still on medical leave on a 5-year chemo plan, but i'm a little behind in terms of publications. i work mainly on my dissertation at this point, but i have several other projects going as well.

i have three papers that have reached R&R and will probably be published in the next year or so: one at political theory, one at APSA, and one at a more random publication. i'll send you those if you'd like.

>>9333288

it's my job--i get paid to read, which makes it easy.

you're an undergrad? what year? you taken anything in government? may have taught you if so.

i'm not a fan of libe, green dragon, etc. white hall at night is great--i have an office there, as well as a kiosk in olin. stella's in collegetown used to be my hangout, but then they shut down; it was chapter house for a while, but then that fucking burned down, so, you know...

mainly when in ithaca i just read at my own place/with my gf at her place.

but i'm living back in DC now (my hometown)--i read a lot at the kogod courtyard (national potrait gallery), georgetown's campus (my sister went there/i went to georgetown prep; random note--also where gorsuch went), raku/jaleo in bethesda, and the public library in rockville (where my gf lives now)

what about you?

Lectures on Shakespeare (W. H. Auden)

Samuel Johnson on Shakespeare (might be a niche request since an older addition is already online but i'd love to read the volume containing the revisions made in 1925 )

im currently living in a 'politically complicated' country so shipping books here is out of the question and having to really on online additions is always just a matter of luck as to whats there and what isn’t. thanks a million for you work OP.

Im a junior in biology/entomology although I wanted to switch to English to study American lit but apparently A&S won't take me after sophomore fall. So I just take as many lit courses as I can on the side for a minor. I haven't taken any govt classes yet.

I mostly hang out in the Willard straight reading library but that can be distracting so I've been trying to spend more time reading in the basement Asian stacks at Olin.

how much time do you spend reading per day?/would you say you read quickly?

never even stepped foot in willard-straight, but the asian stacks are always pretty quiet. will occasionally chill at temple of zeus (i like their soup). the new part of goldwin-smith is pretty dope, too. mann is ok, but far away.

when it's nice out, i like to bike to the plantations and chill there with a book; or stewart park, which is another favorite.

do undergrads make it down to fall creek very often? i see you all around the commons, but it seems like all the more outdoors-oriented zones are primarily ithacans and graduate students...

i read probably around 5-7 hours a day. honestly, i'm independently wealthy, and with medical leave i have all the time in the world. my days consist only in self-improvement and friends. ironically, cancer has led me to an ideal public life--something approaching the aristotelian principle.

New Temple of Zeus is pretty good but always packed. I'm mostly trapped on campus but I do love walking through Ithaca on nice days. We're mostly stuck studying/competing in the rat race they market as education.

That's awesome. Not the cancer, but the time and independence. I really wish i had the resolve to fix my time wasting habits.

I've taken mostly 2000 level courses like intro poetry with Pollak and right now English lit with Amanda Goldstein. Although I took Laurent Dubreuil's Poetry and Mind grad seminar and it blew me away. I've never felt so dumb and inspired at once.

The fact that you're stuck on 4chan and posting your unread library--which is spliced full of too many meme books to be anything but a meme collection, mind you--as if it were genuine intellectual achievement, says something about where you stand between the mediocrity you supposedly stand against, and true brilliance. And you don't stand very high.

Literally why even respond with such obvious butthurt against teenagers acting on impulse. That you even bothered to post something this unironically vain makes it very clear that you're socially awkward in real life, and any "friends" you have, who have a modicum of intelligence, will have recognized you for the pedestrian you are. I promise you that they laugh at you behind your back.

You said that you'll only post something like this once (and it was pathetically spergy by the way), but I seriously doubt that, trips or not. Despite what you might fancy about yourself, you're mercurial, insecure, unwarrantedly vain, and have no discernible talent. Until you post something worthwhile, it is reasonable to toss you in the bin as a pseudo-polymath a la David Foster Wallace. My point is, by all means, stop posting on /lit/. You are a pseud.

Keep going, OP. Want to see where the collection ends.
>>
>>9332082
>let me make it very clear: not one of you--so full of anger and insecurity--could ever, ever compete with me on an intellectual level.

I don’t have any anger or envy or hatred towards you. I have not made a single post in your threads until now. I just want to say that I am certainly that I am a better writer than you are. Perhaps not as learned or even as intelligent as you are, but certainly a better writer.

Also, I appreciate your Shakespeare volumes:

>>9331753
>>9331762

If you allow me, I will suggest you some other tittles that are more obscure but are more worthy of your attention (assuming you know that the real deal woth Shakespeare is the poetry of his plays, not the philosophy of it and all that “invention of the human” business):

>Shakespeare’s Imagery, by Caroline Spurgeon;
>Shakespeare’s Language, by Frank Kermode;
>Shakespeare’s Metrical Art, by George T. Wright;
>The Development of Shakespeare’s imagery, by Wolfgang Clemen;
>The Poetry of Shakespeare’s Plays, by F.E. halliday;
>Shakespeare’s Uses of The Arts of Language, by Sister Mirian Joseph;
>The Language of Shakespeare’s Plays, by B. Ifor Evans
>Shakespeare, by Mark Van Doren

I would also like to make you a personal question:

>What is the profession of your parents? You seem to be a very privileged young man. I doubt that you have bought all of these books with your own money only.

Nevertheless, congratulations for your discipline and good luck.

He's from finance, that means he's been exploiting other people to get the money to spend on nothing but posturing and dilettantism; bourgeois swine spends 'his' appropriated labour value on bragging and snobbery (way too important to actually read any of those books, by the way!); and won't admit he has a hoarding fetish and definitely won't give anything to the mere mortals which take care of real libraries.

OP deserves to be shot.

this is a great post all around, thanks. to your point: my style has been and still is probably my greatest academic insecurity. i dunno--ive come far since undergrad, but still find it difficult at times to convey my thoughts in a more sanctioned way. working on it; for sure i imagine your style outranks mine--you seem fairly composed.

love the shakespeare recs--will look into them all. are you a shakespeare scholar?

as far as my family background: my mother is an architect and my father is an accountant. i absolutely come from a lot of privilege--certainly this is what helped launch my collection, my choice of schools, my career, everything and anything i do. what can i say? i did not choose my lot, but am deeply grateful for what it offered me; i have tried not to squander it, though i imagine plenty of people here would argue that is exactly what i've done. so be it--to each his own.

but, i must say--you strike me as one of the more erudite people on this board. id like to be your friend, if you'd have me--my name is william. what's yours?

so those bookshelves are super cheap--i can't even remember where i got them, maybe home depot? i keep all my books in my basement--i used to have really nice wooden shelves, but my sump-pump is faulty and, during heavy rains, my basement will flood. i gave up on trying to preserve the wood and went straight cheap plastic; you'll note that i don't keep books in the bottom shelf/lift some of my shelves for the same reason. honestly, though, they are great shelves and do exactly what i need: hold books.

>>9335890

anytime i have multiple copies of a volume, it is categorically for different classes that required different versions. the only volumes i have that are duplicated because i've written in them too much are my chaucer and my KJV bible.

i have nothing against digital libraries in principle--in fact, i think that this would make moving a whole lot easier. the problem is that i'm not physiologically well built: apart from being cancer-prone, i've had degenerative astigmatism since i was a kid. looking at screens for too long burns into my retnae; i can do it, but i get headaches. books tend to cut that--though, if there was some manner by which i could scan in all my books and get a kindle version for free, then i'd be on top of that shit like white on rice.

I'm the one! I haven't been reading too much (I did purchase all of the texts you recommended me in that last thread, though) because I've been on a pretty hard binge this time, and I never read or write when using or sick---which combined equals 90% of my time awake---but I guess I've slowly been making my way through Vollman's "Europe Central," which is nothing short of a masterpiece I highly suggest you check out, and Engdahl's "The Lost Hegemon: Whom the gods would destroy." The latter is written by a brilliant and slightly kooky (the best ones are!) journalist and geopolitical analyst detailing Western (American) foreign policy goals wrt world energy sources and control, the covert and pervasive tentacles of the intelligence community (eg material and logistical support of radical groups in the Middle East to secure American interests in isolating Russia and China), IR theory in the same vein as Huntington's "Clash of Civilizations," and more, all of which heavily aligns with your interests if I remember correctly.

What about yourself?

i love europe central--haven't covered engdahl's work yet but with that sorta endorsement i really have to. what is his general argument? is he for american hegemony--or critical of it?

i've been slowly--slowly--working through a lot of populist lit, but my main concentration in the last week has been eric voegelin's "new science of politics". i actually just posted a summary of the intro:
https://catilineconspiracy.com/2017/04/04/1-16-on-eric-voegelin-intro-to-the-new-science-of-politics-part-i/

voegelin's critique of positivism/value-free science is masterful. he works through comte and weber like no one's business; i think his idea of the societal cosmion and representation/political articulation is profound.

he basically argues that modern science is anything but human science--that it substitutes an artificial, abstracted vision of a value-free man for the reality of human experience. he clearly wants us to return to greek ontology and christian metaphysics--what he sees as fully cosmological worldviews that begin with revelation as the basis of scientific inquiry. his treatments of plato and aristotle have also been really interesting: he focuses on the soul/city relation, e.g. that plato saw the ideal city as composed of the three-parts of the soul, and how it is viz. the one truth (god, the ideal, eidos) that the measure of both is made. it is toward this type of cosmology that he wants us to turn again--i;m not fully convinced, but goddamn if it aint provocative.

if i don't quite make sense it's only because i'm still working through some of it myself.

as i recall correctly, you care a great deal about aristotle, no? your reading of mcintyre was fantastic.

absolutely love our conversations--thanks for dropping a line.

>>9336540

nice--is that a request for a scan?

>>9336553

i really love it. but i also really like being a type of social/intellectual nucleus: that i can invite others over and share books, alcohol, entertainment, etc--i honestly thrive on that type of camaraderie, and thoroughly enjoy offering what i have freely. sure, it has heeps of egoism behind it--but i can usually justify this to myself in terms of a consequentialist argument.

I have to go to work for a couple hours so I'll respond more in-depth and check out the article later, but busting a quick reply off my phone:

Engdahl's views are isolationist and 'anti-imperialist,' in a Jeffersonian sense, but he loves a traditional view of the West (see: association with the LaRouche movement), just a more moral one predicated on soft-power and benevolent hegemony.

I've been meaning to check out Vogelin for a long-time---unsurprising if you recall my own views on traditionalism and revitalizing Christianity within Western culture---definitely gonna read that later, your summary is incredibly compelling.

And yep, Aristotle and MacIntyre have been massively influential to my overall worldview and political praxis, and based on your description of Vogelin here I feel like he might have the same effects on me.

Granted hoarding books solely for potential referencing needs is idiotic in the extreme, I must admit that the sheer amount of rectal pain it has brought about in insecure plebs ITT is fascinating. If I may ask - what exactly is your approach to purchasing new titles? Some sections seem rather odd - your Math/Physics almost entirely consists of highly redundant undergrad textbooks sprinkled with some popsci. Far too heavily detailed for a casual reader, far too basic for a scholar, the purpose of such collection eludes me completely.

i wonder, friend, just how deep that nerve goes? shall we explore it more? no, for to do so would be a release from that burden--and let's be honest, all you care about is perpetuating that burden for as long as possible--lest you actually have to face your insecurities and become something greater.

absolutely not. baudrillard's idea of the simulacrum is just a minor modern trill to the overall socratic notion of the eidos: it was the greeks who first posited the "otherworldliness" of things--that this world is an illusion, that something real lies behind it. baudrillard's "lights and sounds" merely pushes this into a registrar of jargon, and cuts the notion of the reigning eidos that would make any form of transcendental "out" possible. follow baudrillard and you arrive at the type of immature nihilism nietzsche found utterly decadent (and i agree).

I want to read through every important work in the history of every field that I think is important. These are: philosophy, math, physics, psychology, economics, and politics.

I started this task three 1/2 years ago. I'm just into the 1800s and looking at my itinerary for the next 200 years of literature makes me anxious. I'm considering dropping math and physics but they are too important to justify it. If I put behind 20 years of history each year, that will still leave me in my late 30s by the time I catch up to modernity. I skipped the scholastics and made a jump from Roman thought to Descartes (besides some political works and major figures, for example I read some of Aquinas and Augustine) which I think greatly pushed this project forward. Are there other such jumps that you think I could make, or, any advice for speeding this process up? I have been reading for about 5 hours a day this past year and can continue that productivity but it's not enough. I'm afraid that by the time I am done my youthful creative energy will be gone and I won't have the capacity to make anything of my effort.

this is an important question. my introduction to eastern religion came mainly through schopenhauer--i began to study buddhism/toaism and some of the more esoteric aspects of eastern religions more seriously in the last couple of years. i have a lot to say here--i will post more in a bit. what is your opinion/religious worldview?

>>9338664

either way, your presence is welcome, and you will find a new type of intellectual home in DC if you should ever choose

>>9338678

heraclitus is one of the first to posit the otherworldiness of things; the socratic project--particular phaedrus and timaeus, as well as some aspects of republic--is really the place to begin.
arthur lovejoy has a truly masterful volume on the topic: i cannot tell you how highly i would recommend "the great chain of being"

>>9338724

i commend this project--but i would have never skipped over the romans or scholastics--reading ALL of augustine and aquinas, let alone calvin and luther and various other early christian mystics, i think is imperative.
why focus on original works of science, out of curiosity? i could maybe buy that with the greeks, who laced their math with philosophy, but a lot of the science of the 16th/17th/18th centuries has naturally evolved--Kuhn's work, as well as Collins (sociology of philosophies), are great overviews of the history of science. see also the images i posted in that vein--will happily scan in anything that will save you time.

could you post a more thorough list of what you have covered/intend to cover? i can give more insight upon review.

I do read a lot. Currently reading through Arendt's books. Not really my type of writer, and I think she glosses over major distractions and contradictions in her own text, especially when she talks about power (of the state/public) vs. power (of the individual/private)

fantastic. i'm actually writing a chapter on arendt for my dissertation--particularly how her ideas of judgment play out against 50s/60s american politics, and further how her idea of "the lie" interacts with vietnam.

did you like the human condition? what do you make of her notion of "action"?

i'd really love to hear more about what you think of her thought--it seems to me that you aren't the biggest fan? but you've also read a great deal, so i can't imagine that you've written her off entirely...

>love the shakespeare recs--will look into them all. are you a shakespeare scholar?

Not professionally, yet I have read quite a lot about him, especially his style of writing. I love his imagery and his use of several figures of rhetoric. Those books I named you are wonderful for people who want to better themselves as poets, for you can see the inner workings of Shakespeare’s creative mind, the sinews, bones and veins of his verbal texture.

So I am just a person who has read a lot about Shakespeare, but not particularly bright or knowledgeable in any other subject.

>>9336356
>my style has been and still is probably my greatest academic insecurity. i dunno--ive come far since undergrad, but still find it difficult at times to convey my thoughts in a more sanctioned way. working on it; for sure i imagine your style outranks mine--you seem fairly composed.

You don’t need to feel bad. I was sort of triggered by your previous post and said something stupid. I really can’t compare us both, since I have never read your writing apart from your posts on these threads, and also because you and I write in different languages (my mother tongue is not English). You might very well be much more gifted than I am. You are certainly more hard working and more cultured.

To be frank, I almost envy your literary-club, with friends with whom you can discuss philosophy, politics and the arts. If one does not gain any knowledge from it yet you receive the health benefits of having good conversation with people, of spending time with other minds. That is very significant, and I am happy for you.

>>9336356
>you strike me as one of the more erudite people on this board. id like to be your friend,

We can very well be friends, but I think that I would disappoint you. I have some understanding of Shakespeare because his work is one of my favorites and I admire his poetry so much that I actually took the time to investigate it more closely. However, this is one of the few areas in which I have a deeper understanding. If you decided to speak about politics, philosophy and history with me you would find that I possess only superficial notions of those areas.

I liked your collection, so I decided to help with the little I know.

Her notion of action, praxis - in short is (according to her, interpreting her through my understanding) is basically what ACTION should've been had not that cunt Aristotle gone and be completely pussy about using pure action/praxis to define (instead he used a mixture of fabrication/poeisis together with praxis/action) the first political philosophy/political life/life in the public sphere).

She digs deep in to the confusion of the use of the word by A himself, makes an internally sound case for how A misused the word because of his own biases - for making life in the polis more safe, predictable, stable, because that's not what "pure" praxis is).

As far as the pure praxis brought back from Greeks (because everyone between Aristotle and her was confused about it according to her, outside of few exceptions) to modern day to inspire political life, vita activa - it does craft a sort of a one way world where people are forgotten, not existing if they aren't political animals in the public/political sphere of life. Then again maybe she was absolutely right, as the bureaucracy democracy and apathetic political life has taken a win (especially if you look into voting statistics of European democracies).

Some of the parts about action and performing unexpected things are really, ideal though. Don't know if ideal or naive, and some parts are self-contradicting (w/r/t to commentary about power and tyranny)
>>
i used to post in these threads, pretending that it was merely for the aesthetics; but then i actually started reading the books i only showed off and sorta became ashamed at the whole conspicuousness of it

so basically i replaced one form of self-righteousness for another. it's odd to me: the more educated i actually become, the more i both leap to judge and hesitate to judge, all the matter convinced that my "transcendence" from posting in vainglorious bookshelf threads is really a matter of moral improvement, and that this entitles me to certain forms of scrutinizing others that they are not privy to viz. me.

but this all bores me, the deepening of my own narcissism, the endless cycle, etc. the great irony is that the further i distance myself from forms of vanity (like showing off books), the more i encounter a strengthened narcissism, where i feel that i'm finally "getting it right" and therefore am better than anyone else on that front, etc.--and can on those grounds write judgmental posts in otherwise innocuous and harmless threads, signalling only a lingering desire for attention. like i'm aware of it all (kierkegaard might say: i live in sin, not ignorance), but it doesn't even matter...

is anyone else similarly bored of their own sanctimonious nature? what do i look to/read to finally expunge this type of self-burden?

You would love Tolstoy's Diaries. They deal a lot with the problem of a very proud and ambitious man struggling to be a good person, while constantly plagued by his desires and enormous egocentrism. That is another book I highly recommend for your collection.

>estion. my introduction to eastern religion came mainly through schopenhauer--i began to study buddhism/toaism and some of the more esoteric aspects of eastern religions more seriously in the last couple of years. i have a lot to say here--i will post more in a bit. what is your opinion/religious worldview?

Thanks for helping out here I look foward to hearing the rest, I curretnly working through buddhism starting with some introductory works before hitting the Buddhas words and Tripitka in earnest. Have also tangled with Scholasiticsm as well.

Currently having a hard time figuring out where the truth lies and which figures have built beautify but ulimtatley false systems based on incorrect assumptions and reasoning.

The only thing I would like from you is your own personal journey with philosophy and religion and how you managed to narrow it down so well - particularly which books and thinkers were key to you finally settling on one.

Comparative religion study has put me in an odd place.

best of luck with your work
