Because the Swedes destroyed like two thirds of the archives and libraries in Poland which robbed the world of nearly three centuries of Polish literary tradition, as most of the books and manuscripts destroyed were never translated or printed outside of the commonwealth.

They also stole hundreds of paintings, looted every major museum and palace, stealing everything from the artworks to the silverware, even the carpets and furniture were ripped up and sent back to Sweden. They even stole state census and tax records, marriage records from churches. There are hundreds of looted works still displayed in Swedish museums.

I'm not joking or making this up btw.
