I recently purchased this translation of the Septuagint and Apocrypha; does anyone have any experiences with this version?
Also, what other works would /lit/ suggest?

Apocrypha isn't that good, very questionable teachings. It's nice to read for the info, but know that it was removed from the Bible for a reason

That's what my dad told me as well -- I am reading purely out of curiosity.
Thank you for the input; How iss the Septuagint, it is the OT in hebrew translated to Greek, correct?

yeah, for contingent sociohistorical reasons

Inferior translation of the OT and Apocrypha, go with the KJV or Geneva. Wycliffe is also a decent translation

That's unfortunate, but I will make a note to find the translations you have suggested. This one will have to do for now I suppose.

They weren't removed, they were placed in their own section by Luther. They only stopped being included in English bibles in the 19th century to save on printing costs.
Also they're still canon for every Christian denomination outside protestantism.
