What's /lit/ equivalent of sports anime\manga? I want heavy workouts, path to a dream, defeats, triumphs, in literature form.

Sport isn't literary.
Eyeshield 21, now git out.
Infinite Jest.

Good question, actually. I'm not sure I've ever even seen a sport themed novel.
try mishima
although there is no happy ending
First option is to read old Hunter Thompson articles.
Then you have some options here:

Not that good list though. Missing Damned United, Fever Pitch...
From it I can only really recommend Friday Night Light's. My favourite isn't on the list though. Ball Four from Bouton, hilarious account on how to be a relief pitcher in pre steroids mlb. Spoiler alert; they still doped themselves. For BBall try Loosing Season and and Lose Balls, both on libgen. On my to read list, so I've no idea about quality.

Infinite Jest is about sports but tennis is so much more mental than other sports that it really does miss a lot of the sport feel. The physicality, the teammates, living up to crowds, tradition, etc. I'm sure there is a really good sport novel out there I just don't what it is

The Goalie's Anxiety at the Penalty Kick

Tennis is brutal physically. Fuck this board.

Calm down a bit man, I mean the collisions between people and that weird kind of intimacy. I'm not downplaying that tennis is a tough sport. But there is a difference between tennis and football in culture

why was everybody in that show so goddamn fuckable?
