I haven't read him, but really anyone that shares or whose philosophy is centered around the same ideas as Nietzsche is ultimately flawed and obviously doesn't deserve to have any cult whatsoever.

Most translators acknowledge the fact that Nietzsche was at the very least aware of Stirner.

I mean, Nietzsche never really generalizes his description of the first man, e.g. in Zarathustra he more or less uses himself as a template and imagines how he would convince people to stop being so deluded. He describes unique behavior through his own peculiarity, while Stirner was more concerned with peculiarity itself.

Nietzsche couldn't have written what he did had it not been for Stirner, and reading Stirner casts Nietzsche in an entirely different light (though I grant this latter may only apply to me).
