What are some good books about living outside of society? Fiction or non-fiction
What do you mean by "outside?"
Walden is a favorite of mine, but I don't know if that would count for you, as Thoreau still spent a good amount of his time among society while living there.
Walden is the most obvious example. If by "outside of society" you don't mean only spatially, then maybe something like Crime and Punishment or The Idiot with its outsider main characters would work.
