I just started Mason & Dixon, about 75 pages in, and I'll admit that I'm struggling with it. Should this be a hard read? I've only previously read Crying of Lot 49.

I found reading chapter summaries afterwards (there's a website with all of them, easy to find with a Google search) really helped me keep my shit together
Crying -> V. -> GR -> M&D
get real get right

Dump it. Knowledgeable /lit/erati know that TP is exclusively for the old bunghole.
i find that reading a chapter of M&D then listening to the audiobook chapter helps

No it shouldn't be a hard read. You should get used to the writing after 10 or 20 pages. Maybe you are a retarded?

im finding that when i go back to earlier passages they are much easier to read. i think it is partly because im just picking up on more stuff the second time but also im getting more used to the writing style

Dude, where the hell can I find the audiobook? I'd love to hear M&D read. Sounds amazing for long car rides through the countryside.
I know it exists and all, but I've never been able to find a digital copy.
Any help is much appreciated.
It gets easier as you get used to the style. Persevere with it -- it's his best novel after GR, maybe V, and Lot 49, certainly his most enjoyable.
