There is definitely something about the ironic category of post-modernism that makes it different. It's lazy, and it's basically defined by suicide-joke memes. It's in no way modernism. But I agree it's just categories to an extent.

i guess what i'm saying is that the tentpoles of modernism are essentially the same as post-modernism, just in a more advanced awareness of the same context. It's not a significant change as modernism can't be emulated the way 1800s romanticism might. Any attempt at contemporary modernism is automatically post.
