>/lit/ loves talking about John Williams and Stoner
>/lit/ loves talking about Blood Meridian
>/lit/ never talks about Butchers Crossing
But why?

any board is dominated by Newfags. William's meme status is defined by Stoner, and Cowboy /lit/ is defined by warlock and blood meridian. Butcher's Crossing is a non-newfag book, and thus read by the quiet oldfags you see on goodreads threads.
Butcher's Crossing was infinitely better than Scrotie McBoogerballs Wild West Boogaloo by Cormac McCarthy.
John Williams could out-write McCarthy by a fucking mile. Its not even close.

That McCarthy contrarianism isnt treated like Joyce or DFW contrarianism is a travesty on this board.
> why don't you like me?....you used to like me?.....is it because Oprah likes me?

I've never seen anyone discuss warlock either

>and they rode on and they ate tortillas and they killed mexicans and niggers. ye
no one here reads. most of them haven't read blood meridian or stoner.

Finished it on Tuesday. Surprised at how effective the ending was despite it not being a surprise at all.
I loved Butcher's Crossing. I think about the ending, and the crossing often.
I actually just picked it up yesterday, having realized that I haven't actually read anything else by him except for Stoner
Love this book, its his best novel. Does anyone else like his Renaissance Poetry anthology.
It must fucking suck to only achieve moderate success as an author in life, then become a money making meme machine in death. If there's any sort of awareness after death, I mean.

It's probably ok.
>>9277940
I mean Stoner did decently in Europe for the reprint, but not spectacularly so.
Wouldn't quite call him a money making machine
>>9276979
fuck off newfag
>>9276974
yawn.
You've read neither
