If you were to spend one month in a secluded cabin in the woods and bring only one book with you, which one would it be?

Something very long or difficult that would keep you busy through the whole time?
Or something enjoyable that you could reread an infinite amount of times without getting sick of it?

The Bible, I should re;read it.
>>
I just got the chance to look at a copy of Bottom's Dream by Arno Schmidt. I have been fantasizing about this scenario ever since.
>>
>>9276465
The Holy Bible, KJV

This.

What a dream, indeed. Unlike most of you here, I crave loneliness and quiet and seclusion, at least for a while. A month or two would be perfect.
>>
>>9276465
I wouldn't have much time for reading since I'd be too busy fucking your bitch

the bible so i don't go insane

if i can't bring the bible, a binding of the unnameable, malloy, and malone dies, so that i'll at least go the right kind of insane
>>
I'd go with any collection of poems, since those are the only books that I actually take out of my bookshelf to re-read single passages
>>
Never read the Bible. It'd be a perfect opportunity to get it done. I'd also get a lot of writing done.
>>
>>9276465
I have a giant "Lovecraft Collection" volume laying around. Would that be alright?
>>
>>9278205
This. I'd bring my Oxford Anthology of Great English poetry.
>>
Robinson Crusoe taught me that the Bible is the right answer

so that. Other than that either something I would never get through otherwise or something short that is quite deep
>>
>>9278222
You'd get bored within a day or two desu
>>
In Search of Lost Time seems like a good idea - long, comfy and beautiful.
>>
>>9278495
This. Also because other than Swann's Way, I probably won't otherwise read the rest unless a hypothetical situation like OP happens to me
>>
>>9276958
why read this book not in german?
>>
Something idyllic.
Like Reymont's "The peasants"
>>
>>9278523
It's about as silly in any language
>>
>wake up with the sun
>wander across fields and innawoods all day
>read Balzac and Gogol by the fireplace after supper
Does it get any comfier than this?

A thesaurus.

Time and solitude means time for my own writing.
