Any good series by this guy or any other authors? I really like book series in the science fiction/ horror genre

i guess obligatory dark tower serious mentioning
i doubt that he has any other series
or for that matter any other good series
Is IT worth the investment? Or his other longer books for that matter. I find long books quite daunting. 300-400 pages is my comfort zone.

It is very good. So is The Stand, Under the Dome, and 11/22/63.

I loved his "Mr. Mercedes" trilogy. Dr. Sleep is also not a terrible follow up to The Shining.

It is shit. Highly overrated.

serious question - how are King's works for someone who is generally a fan of horror? I like older authors like James, Blackwood, Lovecraft, Aickman, etc. as well as some more contemporary ones like Klein, Ligotti, Ballingrud, and Karl Wagner. I kind of feel like an edgy contrarian for never even looking into King, but I've been turned off him for years due to the amount of dislike I see leveled at him from all kinds of literary communities.

many of his works are not really "horror" perse
but he certainly has his gems nothing on the level of his betters but if you even remotely are interested in horror you should give his best works a read
especially the shining if you like the Kubrick movie

It is OK, but don't expect much beyond a half decent story. Read it twice in High School, it follows the same formula that King always uses.
90% of the story is at least somewhat based in reality and plays by the internal rules + last 10% is just craziness.
