OK /lit/ serious question time. Do you use background noise

depends. if its pulp i can listen to music, ride the bus etc....if its a serious book I dislike background noise

Yes. I always listen to music while I'm reading. If it's heavy reading, I make sure it's instrumental.

I have background noise in my ears compliments of tinnitus, so some unintrusive music or dull ambience is appreciated.

I usually listen to creepy music that i found on Youtube while im reading Lovecraft.
Otherwise, wow music is really neat to read anything at all

What's your reasoning here? Wouldn't it make more sense to not have background noise when you need to be more concentrated?
