Has anyone else here found things in their lives sort of correlating with what they're reading?
I had just finished Notes from Underground when my boyfriend broke up with me, and it basically ended with me going on a self deprecating rant similar to the narrator, and basically felt vile like him.
When this happens, are you seeing yourself in the book or the book in you?
Are you gay?

This happens every now and then. These are the books you treasure! I was feeling like a slave to my university and my family when I discovered André Gide, whose character Menalque is a philosophical vagabond running away from all constraints & conventions & full of hate for families; it helped me feel less alone, like I was on the right path (not just going thru a funk).
Also are you a fag-anon or a fem-anon?
