Does /b/ know a few ethnology essays that are as interesting and as readable as pic related ? Lévi-Strauss is great but not comfy at all.

I haven't read much anthropology at all but Clifford Geertz is very readable with his thicc description.
People still post on /b/?

What have you read from Lévi-Strauss ?
I thought that Tristes Tropiques was really comfy.
De près et de loin is comfy as well, not too technical, but I don't if an english translation exists.

Yeah I guess the mistake was due to "SEX" being mentioned on the pic.
>Clifford Geertz

Frenchfag too btw. I read a few pages from Tristes tropiques, would you say the whole book is worth it ? haven't tried.
Also read "De près et de loin", you're right, that was really cool. A bit like the "Entretiens avec Georges Charbonnier" which are kinda dry and less personal though.
I tried a few other essays but as soon as Lévi-Strauss gets accurate and more 'informative", I find him hard to follow, with all these graphics and sometimes mathematical approach.
Malinowski can be read just like a novel, even if there's obviously no 'plot'. It's like watching Discovery Channel.
Please /lit/, don't tell me you all wanna read the whole Western cannon including philosophy, while just ignoring ethnology.
