Do you have something published on Kindle? Has anyone ever read it? Did you get money out of it?

Enjoy your heart disease you foreign fuck
>put book on kdp with no marketing, advertising, or author website
>0 sales
I'm going to take it down and query some agents for my next one. There are guys who successfully self publish, but they're more like salesmen-authors. I'm too lazy for that shit and I don't have wifi every day so I can't maintain a business/blog well.

This is what i feared. What is your book about? Did you ever post a link to it on twitter or facebook or anything?

>using twatter and facejew
I mean, I'm on 4chan for god's sake. Do you think I use social media? I ought to sell my soul one day and try it. But it wasn't that good anyway, first novel and all that. People slap shit up there all day, and no one buys anything that doesn't have at least one or two reviews/ratings, so getting a start is impossible. You're lost in a sea of shit. It's like an exponential graph, almost everyone gets 0 or few sales, a few get enormous sales like that 50 shades of shit author. And the sales are products of how hard you can shill and jill about it. Unless you're one of those fags with 2,000 facebook friends or have a blog with a few thousand readers, nothing will happen. I wouldn't be surprised if upwards of fifty percent of self published books don't receive a single sale. There's a million others and no one knows why they ought to buy yours.
I technically *know* how to do marketing, I just don't want to. I guess when I get hungry enough and the debt collectors knock loudly enough, I might drag myself off my ass and see to it. Apparently even traditional publishers/agents want you to have an author's blog with a following before they'll consider you.

Ah, thats so sad. I hate having a blog. Guess ill try anyways since is not as if imgonna ppublish the traditional way either.

I'm Thomas Pynchon, I dont keep track but I'm doing pretty well last I checked
I published two side-by-side erotica books and sold about twenty between them over time. I had marketed them on Tumblr, where I mostly just ended up posting porn, which got me a lot of followers.
I recently published a new one but since I'm not on Tumblr anymore, I've sold exactly zero copies.

>sold about twenty between them over time.
How much was the profit? How long is "over time"?
>>9220305
Two years, maybe? Made enough to fill one big tank of gas.

In other words, you could have picked pennies and nickels off the sidewalk and fared as well hourly.
>/lit/ says write erotica for easy money
Is /lit/ ever not wrong?
>>9220460
Yeah but I had fun while doing it.
I did ghostwritten erotica before that and made a good bit more. But I wanted to strike out on my own.
>>9219891
Yes, yes, not yet.

The fries would be cooked in vegetable oil, which is very low in saturated fat and cholesterol free. This would not cause heart disease.
>>9220138
True. Besides writing skills you also need to have the talent to be an attention whore otherwise no one knows about you.
