how much will I improve my writing if I try to write 20 pages every day for 50 days?

This much.

They would probably be shitty pages.

quantity practice > few practice.
this is why you're a mediocre writer.
>>
>>9214359
Quality practice > quantity practice

Learn from the Greeks.

fucking boipucci > writing practice
>>
>>9214323

what are you going to write about?
>>
>>9214391
mostly doing translations and copying classical pieces from the cannon.
>>
>>9214398

k. No improvement then.

Don't tell me you've fallen for Malcolm Gladwell's 10,000 hour rule.
>>
>>9214401
I've improved a lot doing this, but I've only done a few pages every day for a week now.

>>9214423
kek
maybe?
>>

The best way to improve your ability to write is to improve your mind. The best way to improve your mind is to read.
>>
>>9214427
Well even if Malcolm Gladwell got it right, and we can all make it if we try hard enough, it's got to be 10,000 hours of seriously pushing yourself.

Another possibility is that this scientist is wrong, ability really is inborn, and we're never going to make it. But that is not a useful mindset.

Also a very common tip is "read more than you write." Most great writers read a lot.

This. Reading will get you farther than mass amounts of writing. Also study the world around you, and try to understand the intricate technicalities of your language.
