Why are breakfast food breakfast foods?" I asked them. "Like, why don't we have curry for breakfast?"
"Hazel, eat."
"But why?" I asked. "I mean seriously: How did scrambled eggs get stuck with breakfast exclusivity? You can put bacon on a sandwich without anyone freaking out. But the moment your sandwich has an egg, boom, it's a breakfast sandwich.
Joyce was a decent writer, but some of his stuff is embarrassing at times don't you think?

>spelling his name as "Greene" and not "Green" to prove you're not well acquainted with him
this is one of those stupid "because that's how one does it" things. just eat whatever the fuck you want, whenever you want

It's a big racket where the maybe five companies that own all the smaller companies collude to make us want certain things and be good little automatons.

Marketing has invaded every facet of our lives and controls most whether they know it or not.
it stems from how quickly one can prepare those foods. when you lived on a farm it was super easy to grab some eggs and some preserved meat and boom bam food to get your day going.

Not that guy but often in the morning I am not hungry. It's probably not good to eat when you're not hungry.
