Name me a contemporary novel that actually reflects our everyday 21st century life, including social networks, internet, cellphones, buildings and alienation.
You mean 21st century Western life?
Tumblr.
But seriously, I'm interested and am monitoring this thread

Would a reputable author risk taking shits on integral parts of modern life?
Think about it, whatever truth he'll write would be viewed as detrimental by corporations.
Writers disguise this by hammering in a false but plausible plot (Hunger Games, Ender's Game, etc) which appeal to people because on some level the novels hold truth.
I don't think there's every going to be a magnum opus on the prevailing social paradigm either because it's taboo or because the only people who care about reading that shit are those who can't think for themselves.
Off topic, watch Black Mirror, it hits the nail on the head in some aspects.

This famalam. Even though the internet wasn't where it is now - no Facebook, Twitter, etc - when Wallace wrote it, it still reflects on many things of everyday 21st century life and even foresees some things that later ascended pretty well if I remember correctly.
