Why is Lookout Cartridge so hard to find? It's the only McElroy novel that sounds interesting. Also, seems like Infinite Jest ripped it off.

As far as authors go McElroy is relatively esoteric. Which means big publishers aren't going to be printing him; a lot of his books are hard to find.

Have you read Lookout Cartridge? Is it worth it for me to spend $90 on it?
>>9197035
I haven't, a friend of mine has. He says it's a very good book, but no book is worth spending 90 bucks on dude.

Well, fuck.

There's an ebook friend

its clear wallace has read LC but LC is more about systems theory and Being rather than addiction or solipsism like IJ. Honestly if this is the only mcelroy thats sounds interesting to you i would hazard even reading it in the first place.

Women and Men just seems like a meme book. Difficult and obscure for the sake of difficulty and obscurity.
I'm all for challenging and long books but I think /lit/ has an addiction for new meme novels and its a problem.
U gotta look out for it

I haven't read WM but I have read other McElroy and his work may be gratuitous but it definitely isn't trying to just be obscure on purpose; he makes some connections that take a long time to develop and argue.
