I'm planning on making my way through the bible for lent, but I don't have an annotated version. Is there a good online guide for it out there?
Read one of the plain-English translations. I like NLT. You don't really need a guide for it like you do with KJV.

I have the NIV, is that any good?

I had one around once and skimmed it, it seemed OK, kind of in between those extremes. If you skim a bit of it and it's not painful to absorb, go for it. My understanding is that NIV is what you're most likely to find in any random Christian's home.
The St. Ignatius bible is on Libgen. It's just the New Testament though.

biblehub.com is a good resource for concordances and commentaries.
