I'm writing a sci-fi novel and I'd like to know what to do when I finish it and try to publish it.
Should I just hand the publisher my novel? Or Do I have tor egister it in some form before doing it or else they'll steal it?
you can self-publish on amazon, but there's a mountain of shit there, which i assume you'll just add to
For newcomers it's best to look at agents that work in genres similar to your work and submit to them, they'll know what to do.
no-one is going to steal your work because in all likelihood it's shit. pay for an editor, there's loads of them leeching off the self-publishing wave
You pretty much have to suck someone's dick to get something published. That's how the industry works.

Possible but very unlikely. Other writers are more likely to rip off your work than publishers.
The old method of securing copyright was to mail a copy of your manuscript to yourself. Only open it if and when you need to assert copyright, and in the presence of witnesses (preferably your lawyer.)
