Don't they do this anyway? I mean, the CC had, and still has, carte blanche to rape children with impunity. That's not the whiny liberal pining, I'm not saying I want more power to the State, I'm just stating the fact that the CC already operates on the principle of subsidiarity and has de facto (although not de jure) authority to cover up "crimes against children" and move the "perpetrator" from e.g. Binghamton to Rochester, or Philly to Harrisburg.

Is First Things really neoconservative? I read it regularly (the last few issues have been especially good) and I wouldn't describe it as neoconservative.
