Is it worth reading ? I could never get into it. I like shorter Dostoevsky works but I my attention span is fleeting and I can't justify it to myself; specially considering it's translated and all.

I read it immediately after Crime and Punishment. It's a little long but it's also much less contemplative than Dostoevsky, so your attention is less easily lost. More action and occasional biting wit.
So basically it's longer, but it's also easier to read.

A little too long. A rollicking historical novel written for the general reader, specifically for the young. Artistically unsatisfying. Cumbersome messages, didactic interludes, artificial coincidences. Uncritical of its historical sources.
