>be extremely autistic
>be so autistic you literally die if people sass you and women show you their tits
>have zero chill and can't identify with normal humans whatsoever
>spend entire life trying to save humanity from dehumanizing social processes at the deepest most sincere and moral level possible

He was nevertheless right.
>>

what kind of stupid name is adorno anyway
that is spanish for decoration
>>
>>9139607
>despite all this be accused of wanting to spread trannyism
>>
was he right about jazz
>>
>>9139825
what do i do if i think adorno was right about everything but jazz

why can't we aspire to higher and higher forms of music and reach idealistic transcendence without sucking schoenberg's dick and listening to threnodies for hiroshima bullshit?

like, if i agree with adorno that beethoven is impossible under capitalism, do i have to enjoy beethoven for six days, and then progress to listening to jews banging on gongs in incomprehensible 357-tone patterns?

i don't want to be a stuffy traditionalist and be like "i agree, but only insofar as it vindicates listening to mozart for eternity." i like his progressivism, but he seems to want to progress into shit i don't like

Take the Flynt pill

>>
>>9139825
Yes.
While some people may "like" Jazz, it is, indeed evil and infantile pop music for the exploitation and subjection of the masses.
>>
>>9139856
>>9139869
i took one listen to some of that "twelve tone" garbage and it just sums up the entire modern leftist ideology: it's inharmonic garbage meant to befuddle anyone listening to it and destroy anyone unfortunate/stupid enough to be persuaded by the kike behind it into believing it has any actual value or beauty

thank the lord Trump won
>>
>>9139825
He was right about the type of Jazz he had listened to, yeah, which was indeed mass-friendly, rhymically-simplistic pop. But it's silly to apply his critique to Jazz as an artform through Parker, Armstrong, Gillespie, Coltrane, et al.
>>
>>9139856
Alban Berg manages to be quite melodic, even in his 12 tone pieces,

do you people have any thoughts other than

>kike
>muh trump

fuck i wouldn't hate you so much if you just said something interesting once in a while
>>
>>9139960
i am a /pol/fag who likes trump and i read that post as satire or at least self-aware desu
>>
>>9139825

He wasn't, and I've looked into the matter slightly.

I've actually tried out his music though, and I kinda like it. I'm primed to hate him due to both genuinely liking jazz and being a /pol/ user, but I like "difficult" music in general, and his sad-bastard stuff is right up my street.

I would like to have a physical release on general meme-principles. It looks like there is only one German CD that is commonly available.

>le sad, stilted Jewish modern music
>>
>>9139963
ironic /pol/posting is a time-honored tradition.
>>
>>9139960
you are exactly the problem; you think there is a "deepness" to any of this, art especially, that you simply forget simple pleasures and how to live life like the normal person. you are so deep in your champagne socialist activities and niceties that you have strayed from the reality of the human condition and caused much suffering unto your fellow countrymen for it

this is why we hate you and this is why we have destroyed you

8 years you pseud pustule
>>
>>9139856
>>9139825
it's worth noting that Adorno was condemning the popular radio jazz of his time (essentially pop music), not Coltrane, Braxton etc.
>>
>>9139978

This is a genuinely helpful comment that I've seen a time or two on the smart boards lately in connection with this subject.
>>
>>9139953
Did he not like the 'primitivity' of jazz, referencing the animal in man, and beckoning him to dance? Dance has a long tradition in human history and I think is a good thing, exercise, endorphins, culture, community bonding.

He doesnt seem like much of a dancer, so was part of his dislike of jazz, his subconcious or not, desire to remove the animal from man, and the body from the world? And leave behind only the pure cerebral intellectuality of the spirit?
>>
>>9139978
>popular radio jazz of his time
Do you think part of this, his condemning, was due to him being of the 'revolutionary' camp; perceiving that 'there are many things wrong about the ways of the world', and so primarily what he did not like was 'the happiness of the music', is that possible? That he believed happy music was making the population realize that things were not supposed to be perceived as happy then? It was putting nice icing on a shit cake
>>
>>9139978
From what I understand, he never really changed his mind about it.
>>
>>9139607
>>spend entire life trying to save humanity from dehumanizing social processes at the deepest most sincere and moral level possible

He was right tho.

>>9139825
Kinda. He talked about it in the '20s, and never listened to it afterwards. It would be like judging the Common Practice Period by its menuets.

>>9139941
There are lots of worthless avantgard movements, serialism is one of the few legit ones. What made Berg great is the same kind of genius which made Beethoven great. There is no gimmick involves.

>>9140069
We have no souce about him listening to what we now consider the classics of jazz, so that's just a speculation.
As far as we know he just listened to random swing bands in the '20s, wich basically was party music (Adorno's cryptonite).
>>
>>9140034
Adorno is the main articulator of the now common thesis that "popular" (as in pop, not as in folk) culture are mass manipulation devices,
>>
>>9140304
That's right though
>>
>>9140425
I agree to some level, but not completely. I think from the three peny orchestra it was already clear that pop culture could at least try to carry non-reified situations
>>
>>9139814
>/pol/ and Adorno end up in the same room
>/pol/ starts frothing at Adorno about how he's a commie jew trying to destroy the west with degeneracy
>Adorno fires back and lectures /pol/ about the erosion of genuine culture by the consumerism capitalism engenders
>they soon realize they're on the same page and become buddy cops beating up degenerates
>>
>>9139963
>going on pol and claiming to be self aware
>>
>>9139825
by 'jazz' he meant popular music
and yes, he was
>>
>>9140974
>Theodor "poetry after Auschwitz would be barbaric" Adorno

>on the same page
>>

"we"
>>
>>9140425
>>9140304

Describe the types of manipulation?

Most people who the consume stuff, just seem to want 'a pleasant ambience of pleasantries fluffing the in between of their life'

Is that wrong? Is the purpose of consuming what one does, because they like it?
>>
>>9139607
>you literally die if people sass you and women show you their tits

kek

everyone's got kryptonite
>>

they don't call them poltards for nothing
>>
>>9139856
>if i agree with adorno that beethoven is impossible under capitalism
where did he say this?
