Mason and Dixon is one of the most beautiful books I've ever read. For the trolls who obviously haven't read it, it's very dissimilar to his other heavy pomo works like GR and V., and while it is occasionally difficult, it is the strongest characterization of any novel I've ever read

Honestly I like that people are defending this book but it is overrated here. Gravity's Rainbow IMO is the superior and more ambitious work even if it doesn't have as great characterizations. It's still amazing in itself though and I don't want to compare it to GR since it's clearly so different, but again, I think GR deserves its reputation as the crown of his work -- a pretty early peak, sadly.
