Has anyone read pic related? I read "How to read and why" by Harold Bloom, which I really liked but it wasn't quite what I expected. I guess I'm just looking for something that will help me extract more from novels, but maybe that's just all nonsense.

I thought it was pretty good. He basically goes through a list of common symbols, like "water can mean a baptism or rebirth."

I also read that he has a recommended reading list at the back, so that sounds pretty interesting. I might check it out then. Thanks.

Can someone post the recommended reading list at the back of the book?

Thanks

I've already ordered it. It should hopefully have some good content, and I will be referring back to his list too.

He has some good content, but the writing is obviously meant to make it easier on people who don't read. If you can get past how obnoxious his writing will seem to you then it'll be fine.
