I'm looking for weird literature recommendations.
I don't care in what respect it is weird, plot, writing style, etc. as long as it's in English.

The obscene bird of night by Donoso
Trumbo - Johnny Got His Gun
Anti-war novel written from the perspective of a soldier who lost his eyes, nose, mouth, ears, arms, and legs to a mortar in WWI. The first 100 pages or so follow his thoughts as he comes to terms with what happened and struggles with his previous support of the war as he now realizes that his patriotism and willingness to sacrifice himself were misguided. The remainder of the story touches on these ideas but is more about his attempt to again communicate with the outside world. Beautifully written (although the first 90ish pages can be tedious and repetitious at times).
Heller - Picture This. Written primarily from the perspective of Aristotle in the painting by Rembrandt now known as Aristotle Contemplating a Bust of Homer while it is being painted. There is no real plot, just a means for Heller to voice his anti-capitalist, anti-colonial, anti-war, etc. views as he takes us back and forth between the golden age of Ancient Greece, the golden age of Holland, and 20th century USA.
